MIDGE URE ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN TOUR IN OCTOBER

Acclaimed musician and songwriter MIDGE URE is set to bring his extensive catalogue to Australia for an unmissable national tour this October; with all the hits from his accomplished solo career, as well as his work in bands such as Ultravox, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy and Visage. Touring Australia for the first time since 2020, Midge Ure’s return is an overdue one for longtime fans; for those who have yet to experience this globally revered musician perform, it is the perfect time to become initiated into the fold. 

Midge’s career as a touring artist has continued to flourish through the decades into the 2020s, marking his 70th birthday with a one-night only live music event at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall. Titled Celebrating 7 Decades: A Life In Music, the event was an acknowledgement of Midge’s life and journey through music and creativity; a perfect way to celebrate a birthday, but also an untouchable set of contributions to popular music. 

The show, recorded and released as Live At The Royal Albert Hall in 2024, reinforced Midge’s cultural and musical legacy, and became further inspiration for him to keep the celebrations going, in bringing the ‘Catalogue’ tour to Australia. 

“I performed live long before I was ever allowed anywhere near a recording studio and as much as I love spending time writing and recording, live music remains my first love. This ‘Catalogue’ tour will allow me to not only play a wide selection of hits from my past but perform some of the most requested favourites. Revisiting these moments from my musical life is something I am really looking forward to sharing.” The artist shares.
