NEW DUO THE ADMIRED DELIVER SECOND TASTE WITH NEW SINGLE ‘DANCEFLOOR’
Equal parts nostalgic and future-focused, Sydney/Eora duo The Admired are leaning into their emo roots and embracing electro-pop overtones, today sharing their second ever single ‘Dancefloor’. The track is lifted from the band's upcoming mini EP 3 songs, due for release later this year.
An ode to the "it girls" of the 2010s - think Sky Ferreira and Bethany Consentino - 'Dancefloor', as vocalist Bianca Davino reveals, “captures the feeling of landing exactly where you’re meant to be, even if just for a fleeting moment.
“It’s not about ticking off major milestones, but rather finding magic in just living the artist’s life,” she continues. “For the song’s protagonist, fulfillment comes from meeting fascinating people or being at a culturally significant event.”
While ‘Dancefloor’ is only The Admired’s second release, this isn’t their first rodeo. As the core members of Aussie pop-punk mainstays Grenade Jumper, Bianca and Max have toured nationally alongside the likes of Yours Truly, RedHook, Between You & Me, Bakers Eddy and many more. Their collaborations with Trophy Eyes (‘Did You Imagine’) and Dear Seattle (‘Fluorescent’) earned rotation on triple j, and the band went on to perform at Unify Gathering, sell out multiple hometown shows, and embark on headline national tours.
The Admired’s songs come from a lifetime of experiences, though their band is just getting started. This year, they opened for Origami Angel and Bakers Eddy, and headlined Sydney Music’s Cupholder event in May, further establishing themselves as an exciting new force in Australia’s alternative music scene.
