LOCAL METAL SWEETHEARTS TORIZON SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘BLOOM’

Meanjin/Brisbane-based petalcore outfit Torizon unveil their emotionally charged single 'Bloom' – produced and mixed by Kalen Austin, and mastered by Mike Kalajian, Rogue Planet Studios (Bad Omens, Windwaker, Papa Roach).

'Bloom' dives headfirst into a maelstrom of razor-sharp riffs, hammering bass, and propulsive drums decorated with vibrant synth flourishes. Frontwoman Mish Sharma's dynamic vocals oscillate between searing ferocity and delicate fragility, while bassist Ben Gallaher's call-and-response melodies offer a dual perspective to the unfolding narrative of characters Luna and Sam moving through a harrowing miscarriage. Complete with a grandiose bridge and a cathartic solo underpinning the grief-stricken lyrics, the track uses the metaphor of a flower that never bloomed to convey profound loss.

Torizon talk about the inspiration behind 'Bloom':
"There is still stigma around the topic of miscarriage and fertility issues - it's one of the most traumatic things people go through, and yet it's still not talked about enough. When we started exploring this concept, people in our circle opened up about the societal pressure to be secretive about it all, which only perpetuates the isolation. This set in motion a body of work that starts with 'Bloom' and will unfold over the next few months."
