SARAH MCLEOD AND DALLAS FRASCA SHARE THEIR FONDEST TOURING MEMORIES
Sarah McLeod and Dallas Frasca are two of Australia’s legendary leading forces who have spent their careers defining their rock sound and performing many shows around the country as well as overseas. Adding to that, both legends will be heading out together in February through March on The Green Electric Tour which will take them from Wollongong to Fremantle and everywhere in between on a 15-date tour. Before that kicks off next year, the two artists have shared with us 3 of their most fondest memories while touring over the years. Check it out below and don’t forget to grab your tickets to a show near you because you won’t want to miss the energy and electricity that these artists bring to the stage.

2. “Many years ago we were on tour around the US and heard we were nominated for an Aria. The label sent me business class to Sydney to attend the Arias and we won best rock album. Then I partied all night and went straight to the airport via the hotel to grab my bag.. flew to Chicago where I met the band backstage at the gig at The Metro, changed my clothes , put some lippy on and launched straight into a show. It was surreal.”
3. “This is a weird one but will always be a favourite for the comedic value. Back when we first started touring we had a 12 seater van and a trailer. We found our self travelling down a highway in the wrong direction at night after a gig. Everyone in the car was very merry , except the driver… . Once we realised we were going the wrong way we tried to do a u turn across a giant nature strip with a big dip in the middle, not wise in a 4wd, let alone a 12 seater with a trailer. We got bogged. We all got out and stalked around the car trying to figure it out. The bog became deeper and deeper the more we tried to escape. We were sitting ducks. Meanwhile all tour everyone had been giving me shit for bringing my thongs, which I bought to wear in the shower at backpacker hostels . I knew I’d have the last laugh when they all got tinea and I didn’t ! So I grabbed the thongs as a last ditch attempt and jammed them under the back wheels… the rubber was just enough to create some traction . The wheels started to catch and suddenly the thongs were flying in the air and the van was free! My thongs saved the day and I was a bloody legend.”
DALLAS:
“Sarah and I first met years ago, when we were both invited to sing on a Led Zeppelin tribute tour. Absolute disbelief watching her stroll onstage, deliver every lyric of “Stairway to Heaven” from memory (she memorised them just before going on stage, those who know, know!), and then tear the roof off the Enmore Theatre. Later I found myself hidden behind the drum kit taking live footage when The Superjesus supported Kiss at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. The whole show just kicked arse.”
“One of my core memories, was supporting Patti Smith on the island of Corsica. Just before my band and I were about to go on, Patti decided she wanted to play first. And listen, you don’t argue with the most badass woman in music. For a split second I was like, ‘Technically… does this mean Patti Smith is opening for me?” 🤣 But honestly, I was in awe watching her deliver that set. Her presence is unbelievable. It was a massive honour to play to her audience straight after.”
“Then there was the time I played a festival in Cognac, France and ended up hanging out with B.B. King. A friend back home had begged me to bring her one of his guitar picks ‘or don’t come back!’ kind of energy 🤣✌🏼. So there I was, standing in his dressing room, meeting a real-life legend… and I completely forgot to ask for the pick. I walked out with a photo, but no pick.
Fast-forward to his set, 20,000 people packed in, and B.B. spots me down at the barrier. He stops mid-song, points and goes, “Hey, redhead, I know you!” Then he flicks a guitar pick straight in my direction. Time slowed down… the crowd surged… everyone was reaching for it like it was the Holy Grail. And knew this is my second chance. I’m not sure, but I could have sworn ‘Chariots of Fire’ was playing at this point. I jumped, stretched, almost tore a hammy and caught that little sucker right between my fingers. I delivered it back home like it was precious cargo. My friend was super chuffed.”
